How to enable multilingual simultaneous interpretation for Zoom / Teams / Google Meet meetings?

For online meetings with attendees from multiple countries (e.g. English, Japanese, Korean), you do not need to book multiple interpreters separately! GullBot has been fully upgraded to support multilingual meeting translation.

Below are common use cases and setup instructions:

Scenario A: Multilingual interpretation in a single main room (One GullBot for multilingual support)

Suitable for meetings where everyone stays in the main meeting room, but different participants need to view or listen to different target languages (English, German, Korean, Japanese etc.)

Setup Steps

1. Submit a GullBot booking in TransGull

  • Open TransGull and select GullBot Interpretation.

  • Paste your Zoom / Teams / Google Meet meeting link.

  • Configure Language Pair: Switch Number of meeting languages to More than 2 languages, then select all languages for this meeting (English, Japanese, Korean etc.)

  • Confirm meeting time and duration, then submit.

2.GullBot joins and sends interpretation link

Once the meeting starts,GullBot automatically enters the meeting room and shares the interpretation link in the meeting chat box.

3. Accessing Interpretation via Link

Attendees do not need to install any app or browser extension. Simply click the link in the chat to open the web-based translation page:

  • If you own a TransGull account, log in to listen and view translations online.

  • If you don't have a TransGull account, select View as guest to view bilingual subtitles in your browser.

Default interface language: After participants open the interpretation webpage via the link, the interface language loads automatically with no manual setup required.

Freely switch languages: To change target languages, open the language dropdown menu at the top of the page and switch anytime to view or listen to your preferred language.

Once the language is selected, bilingual subtitles will display in your browser in real time.

  • Click Play at the bottom right corner to listen to live simultaneous interpretation (playback volume adjustable).

💡 Tip: We recommend using headphones when listening to audio interpretation to prevent your microphone from picking up the translation output and creating an echo.

Scenario B: Interpretation for Breakout Rooms (Assigning Different GullBots to Different Rooms)

Ideal for platforms like Zoom that use Breakout Rooms, where different breakout groups require different language interpretation.

Steps:

1. Enable and Create Breakout Rooms in Zoom:

  • Ensure Breakout Rooms are enabled on your Zoom account.

To do this, log in to the Zoom web portal and go to Settings (or Account Management → Account Settings for admin accounts). Under the In Meeting (Advanced) section, find Breakout room and turn on the toggle.

  • Before or during the meeting, click Breakout Rooms on the Zoom control bar to create the required breakout rooms.

2. Schedule Multiple GullBots in TransGull:

Paste the same meeting link multiple times to submit separate scheduling requests for each language pair.

For example:

  • GullBot 1: Set to Japanese ↔ English

  • GullBot 2: Set to Korean ↔ English

  • GullBot 3: Set to Traditional Chinese ↔ English

3. Assign GullBots to Breakout Rooms:

  • After all GullBots join the main meeting room, the host can assign each GullBot to its designated room through the Zoom Breakout Rooms management panel.

  • Once inside their assigned rooms, each GullBot will share its specific interpretation link in the room chat, providing dedicated translation for that group.
