This help guide will show you how to enable simultaneous interpretation during Microsoft Teams video meetings, helping you understand foreign languages in international conferences and keep up with the discussion.
📢 Important Special Notice (Must-Read for Windows Users):
Since the latest version of the Teams desktop client on Windows utilizes a specific audio routing mechanism, we highly recommend using the web version of Microsoft Teams via a computer browser alongside TransGull for simultaneous interpretation. The web version provides a much more stable audio capture, perfectly supports speech recognition while wearing headphones, and offers absolutely no difference in features or performance compared to the desktop client.
You can enable simultaneous interpretation in just 5 simple steps:
Download and install TransGull
Create a TransGull account
Log into the Microsoft Teams web version or desktop client, depending on your operating system
Open TransGull and select the corresponding recording source and languages
Start the meeting's simultaneous interpretation
In addition, we will also explain:
How to obtain translated subtitle text
How to play translated content

macOS: You can use either the Microsoft Teams desktop client or the web version.
4. Open TransGull, select "Simultaneous Interpretation"
After signing into your account, enter the TransGull main interface:
Select "Simultaneous Interpretation" ➡️ select"Two-Way Interpretation"
Select "Activities on This Computer"
Accurately select the recording software:
Web version of Microsoft Teams (Windows): Under "Record Audio from Selected App", select the browser currently running the Teams webpage (e.g., Google Chrome).
Desktop client of Microsoft Teams (macOS): Under "Record Audio from Selected App", select "Microsoft Teams".
If you want your own voice to be translated as well, please wear headphones and select “Also Record My Microphone”.
⚠️ Tip: Check your computer’s Microphone permissions and make sure both TransGull and Microsoft Teams are allowed to access your microphone.
Select the "Source Language" and "Target Language" (the subtitle language you want to see).
💡 TransGull supports over 33 languages and multiple accents, making cross-language communication easy.
5. Start the meeting's simultaneous interpretation
Once the meeting starts and audio is detected, TransGull will immediately display real-time translated subtitles.
For example, if the source language is Spanish and the target language is English, you will see the following bilingual subtitles:
🎉 That’s it! You can now seamlessly participate in Microsoft Teams meetings, business discussions, or international conferences in any language.
How to obtain translated subtitle text
1)First, click "Pause ⏸️"
2)Then click "Copy All"
*The content will be automatically copied to the clipboard.
3)Switch to another app and paste the text directly.
💡 TransGull automatically copies bilingual subtitle text, making meeting notes quick and easy! ⬇️
How to play translated content
During translation, you can click "Play" in the bottom-right corner, and TransGull will automatically play the translated audio.
⚠️ Tip: “Play” works as a toggle, not a one-time play button. Once enabled, newly translated content will be played automatically, rather than only the content that has already been translated.
